43 Withdrawal of OTC products for babies and children made by Johnson & Johnson in several countries not included in Indonesia. None of the drug products made by companies that are pulled back (recall) from the Indonesian market.
Previously, Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, McNeil Consumer Healthcare Products attract 43 OTC products for babies and children in several countries. These include drug brand Tylenol, Motrin and Benadryl. Withdrawals made since last Friday (4/30/2010) after drug and food regulatory agency or the U.S. FDA found an error in these products.
FDA received 70 reports of people who experience the effects namely nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting and diarrhea when inhaling the smell of these products. Johnson & Johnson recognizes, the products were contaminated by chemicals during transport. In addition, FDA also found several products that contain active chemicals than it appears on the label.
McNeil did not know exactly how many products on the market that will be withdrawn. Believed to be very much because it covers the U.S. market, the United Arab Emirates, Fiji, Canada, Dominican Republic, Dubai, Guam, Guatemana, Puerto Rico, Panama, Kuwait, Trinidad and Tobago. The company called on consumers to redeem a product that has been withdrawn. If excessive eating and felt unusual symptoms after consuming, consumers were asked to report.
