Description:
Sleeping sickness or African trypanosomiasis is a disease caused by protozoa of the genus Trypanosoma and transmitted Tsetse flies. Sleeping sickness is a lethal disease. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that between 50,000 and 70,000 people in Sub-Saharan African sleeping disease, or Human african trypanosomiasis, is spread through the bite of Tsetse flies. In addition to Tsetse fly bites, the disease can be transmitted from mother to child or through blood transfusions.
Symptoms:
Initial symptoms include fever, headache, and pain in joints, swollen lymph glands, anemia and kidney disease. After several days the patient experienced changes in sleep cycles cycles; sleepy in the daytime and could not sleep at night. If these early symptoms are not treated as soon as possible can result in damage to the nervous system, coma, and the most fatal consequence is death.
Treatment:
