Boldo is a native Chilean plant. Boldo leaves have a bitter flavor and aroma characteristics, such as camphor. In Latin America tetrsebut leaves used for culinary purposes, its use is similar to bay leaves. Also in Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Peru, rasil and South American countries are used as herbal tea.

ascaridole, benzaldehyde, boldin, boldoglucin, bornyl-acetate, 1,8-cineol, coclaurine, coumarin, cuminaldehyde, 2-decanone, 6 (a) -7 dehydroboldine, diethylphthalate, eugenol, farnesol, fenchone, gamma-terpinene, 2-heptaone , isoboldine, kaempferols, laurolitsine, laurotetainine, norboldine, norisocorydine, pachycarpine, P-cymene, P-cymol, pro-nuciferine, 2-octanone, reticuline, rhamnosides, sabinene, sinoacutine, terpinoline, thymol, trans-verbenol, 2-tridecanone, and 2-undecanone.

Usefulness:
Centuries ago, Boldo is a wild plant that grows in a meadow owned by the farmers in Chile. Currently, Boldo cultivated across the world to supply the market demand for certain herbal medicines or herbal remedies for gallstones and gallbladder inflammation and many diseases associated with liver, stomach and digestive conditions.
